Bob Geyen
Bob Geyen has served as an educator and educational administrator for over 40 yrs. Key areas of interest are staff development and improvement of instruction, peer mediation, and restorative justice. Affiliated organizations: Metropolitan Principal’s Academy, Shakopee Crime Prevention Inc. (9yrs, Pres. 5yrs.); Shakopee Dollars for Scholars; Board Member Citizens State Bank of Shakopee; Belle Plaine City Council; AARP Legislative Advocate for 5 yrs. including the 2008 successful reform of health care, identity theft, nursing home care and standards; AARP "Volunteer of the Year" for 2008; Minnesota State Co-Chair of AARP’s “Divided We Fail” initiative for affordable healthcare and long-term financial security; “Online AARP Advocate/Blogger” for senior issues; Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Medicare Part B drug negotiation; two personal appearances on Twin Cities Public Television (TPT): 1) “Getting There,”--a series on aging issues facing seniors--May 2008. 2) “Seniors and Technology”--May 2009.
