Area Agency on Aging
As the designated area agency on aging for
the Metro area, MAAA
is a catalyst in building communities where elders live with dignity,
mutual respect and shared responsibilities across generations and
cultures. MAAA does this through five primary goals:
Advocacy and Education
In collaboration with our partners, build awareness and support of
aging issues, trends, assets and needs with stakeholders and the public.
Focus Areas: Trends, issues and public policy in support of elders
and their families, information for funders, the business community and
other influencers.
Fund Distribution
Use funding policies to build capacity for effective community
services across the seven-county region; balance the needs of low-income
and minority elders and elders living in each county; leverage community
resources; and respond to emerging needs.
Focus Areas: Ongoing investment in priority service areas and
effective management of financial resources.
Systems Change
Convene providers, community leaders, and consumers to facilitate
improvements in service delivery and systems integration; and develop
services that address priority needs of elders and their families in the
region.

with health care service delivery; Caregiver Support; Mental Health
services; and Chore Service Delivery Redesign.
Capacity Building
Provide technical assistance to increase individual agencies'
capacity to develop or expand priority services.

systems of minority service agencies; financial and service reporting systems of Title III grantees.
