Current Grantees and Contractors
MAAA funds and works with community-based agencies to provide
quality, comprehensive services primarily for seniors age 60 or older
and their caregivers. A list of major services follows with links to
individual providers.
Caregiver Support & Respite Care Services
Services and resources focused on meeting
the needs of caregivers providing care for an older family
member, friend or neighbor. Services include respite, coaching /
counseling, education, training and support.
Chore Services
Services by paid staff or volunteers include lawn mowing, snow shoveling,
light and heavy housekeeping, grocery shopping and others.
Health Insurance Counseling
State-certified staff and volunteers provide information about Medicare,
Medical Assistance, health insurance and benefit plans, and prescription
drug coverage and help persons with Medicare to compare Medicare
supplemental and long-term care insurance policies and options, assist
with completing and sending claims and appeals, understand and track
medical bills and forms, and claim insurance benefits.
Health Promotion
Education, outreach, screening and home
visits promote health and prevent disease. Current services include
medication management, depression screening, and group exercise and
wellness activities.
Legal Services
Legal representation, advice, information and referral on a variety
of legal issues: housing, health and income benefits, citizenship and
consumer credit.
Medication Management Therapy Services
Optimizes medication therapeutic outcomes for individual seniors.
Nutrition & Nutrition Support Services
Nutritious meals provided in group settings and to
homebound individuals. Participants receive nutrition education and
other support services. Ethnic and culturally age-specific meals are
available.
Special Access
Information and referral, outreach, advocacy,
translation/interpretation and short-term case management services
provided by minority operated agencies
help minority and non-English speaking elders obtain services they
need.
Coordinated Transportation Services
Group and individual transportation services for medical
appointments, grocery shopping, congregate senior dining, social and recreational
activities and other appointments.
