Employment and Volunteer Opportunities
Services are offered by public and non-profit agencies to assist older
adults in finding and obtaining employment and volunteer
opportunities. These agencies sometimes offer employment or
volunteer opportunities within their agencies, but more often help
people find opportunities in the greater community.

Volunteer
Opportunities
Making a difference
in the lives of others is an important component of healthy aging. There
are numerous short and long-term opportunities in the community. Visit
the Hands on
Twin Cities (Off
Site) and the Minnesota Senior
Corps to learn more about volunteer opportunities in the Metro area. There are many ways
for older adults to share their strengths. The term "civic engagement"
is used to describe citizen participation in civic affairs. In the
public arena, there are a lot of ways of participating and being heard.
Through citizen participation, older adults can influence change that
benefits their families and communities. Learn more about civic
engagement from the Vital Aging Network
(VAN) (Off Site).
