Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Communities
According to SAGE, a national LGB&T organization that advocates for
older adults, estimates of the number of gay, lesbian, bisexual and
transgendered elders vary greatly (from 2 - 8 million in the U.S.).
GLBT elders face well documented barriers to receiving services. Many
organizations support elders in accessing services as well as advocate
on behalf of LGB&T communities.
